Role Overview: Commerce Operations The Commerce team provides the backbone for player transactions. This involves a sophisticated blend of backend services, client-side integrations, and bespoke internal tooling. We ensure that the financial integrity of our titles is maintained across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile platforms. In this role, you aren’t just tracking tasks—you are facilitating the development of high-quality features. You will serve as a Scrum Master, coaching your team on agile methodologies and driving process improvements that allow our engineers to do their best work. This is a role for a self-starter who is as interested in the “why” as they are in the “how,” possessing the curiosity to dig into technical requirements and the interpersonal skills to communicate them clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Lifecycle Management Timeline Management: Coordinate complex project timelines across multiple development and operations teams. You will track progress against aggressive schedules and ensure all milestones are met. Backlog Grooming: Maintain and prioritize team backlogs. You are responsible for ensuring that JIRA tickets are well-defined, actionable, and aligned with the broader product roadmap. Status Reporting: Produce detailed status reports for leadership, providing visibility into development velocity, potential risks, and resource allocation. Agile Facilitation Scrum Master Duties: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demo sessions. Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the current production pipeline and propose scalable solutions to enhance team efficiency. Coaching: Mentor the team on agile practices to foster a self-organizing and high-performing environment. Communication & Collaboration Cross-Team Synergy: Act as the primary liaison between Product, Engineering, and Security teams. You will ensure that technical requirements are feasible and that everyone is aligned on the delivery goals. Issue Resolution: Proactively identify “blockers” and work across departments to resolve them, ensuring that the development schedule remains on track. Documentation: Manage team wikis using Confluence or SharePoint to ensure that project knowledge is preserved and accessible. Requirements & Qualifications Professional Foundation Experience: At least 1 year of professional experience in project management or production, preferably within a tech-centric or creative industry. Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Business, Communications, Computer Science, etc.) or equivalent practical experience. Technical Aptitude: The ability to comprehend complex technical information and translate it into lay terms. You should understand how commerce systems function from a user perspective on platforms like the Rockstar Games Launcher, PSN, or Xbox Live. Technical Toolset Task Management: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as JIRA, Monday.com, Microsoft Project, or Hansoft. Design & Documentation: Familiarity with Figma (for review processes) and Confluence/SharePoint for wiki management. Data Analysis: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking assets and project data. Soft Skills Adaptability: A high degree of flexibility; you must be able to pivot quickly as priorities shift in a fast-paced R&D and production environment. Communication: Outstanding written and verbal interpersonal skills. Motivation: A genuine interest in the video game industry and a desire to understand the mechanics behind backend services. Preferred “Pluses” Professional certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Project Management Professional (PMP). A background in Computer Science or basic programming knowledge (to better interface with engineering teams). Direct experience in software development or the video game industry.
