Team & Operational Mandate

This specialized role is embedded directly within our PM / Production organization, focusing explicitly on the infrastructure that keeps our global studios running securely and efficiently. The Project Manager acts as the strategic connective tissue for our core technical departments.

What We Do

  • Strategic Partnership: We partner directly with technical team leads, directors, and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the IT and Information Security domains.
  • End-to-End Delivery: We own and drive execution from conceptual initialization to final delivery for both localized internal team tracks and massive, cross-departmental global initiatives.
  • Alignment & Feasibility: We ensure that sophisticated technical requirements are translated accurately across non-technical departments, that engineering feasibility is established early, and that cross-studio alignment is strictly maintained through delivery.
  • Process Optimization: We build, refine, and champion collaborative agile workflows with development and infrastructure teams that promote honest, transparent, and frequent communication loops.

As a Project Manager within the IT and Security domain, you will provide execution structure, communication discipline, and meticulous coordination across multi-disciplinary engineering tracks. Your day-to-day operations will encompass:

1. Project Planning, Mapping & Execution

  • Collaborate closely with technology leadership and infrastructure subject matter experts to gather, define, and document comprehensive project requirements.
  • Develop realistic milestone schedules, resource allocations, and roadmap definitions for complex technical deployments (such as infrastructure upgrades, security tool implementations, and network optimizations).
  • Maintain clear tracking metrics to ensure deliverables arrive predictably, on budget, and up to the studio’s strict quality benchmarks.

2. Cross-Departmental Coordination

  • Serve as the central point of contact for complex initiatives that span multiple internal IT nodes, information security layers, and active game development production pipelines.
  • Facilitate routine alignment meetings, stand-ups, and post-mortem reviews to keep worldwide stakeholder groups synchronized.
  • Break down technical silos by proactively identifying other engineering divisions within Rockstar whose technical knowledge or dependencies are required to propel an initiative forward.

3. Risk Mitigation & Communications

  • Actively identify, document, and monitor operational dependencies, bottlenecks, and project risks across the lifecycle of each initiative.
  • Establish formal communication protocols and structured escalation paths to resolve technical blockers before they impact production roadmaps.
  • Deliver concise, actionable status updates, velocity reports, and risk assessments to senior studio stakeholders and global leadership teams.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses for Project Manager jobs a unique blend of technical literacy, organizational discipline, and the interpersonal soft skills required to lead cross-functional technical teams without direct authority.

Required Core Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related technical discipline. Equivalent industrial experience will be considered.
  • Professional Experience: 3+ years of verifiable experience managing complex projects, with a strong preference for candidates who have operated directly within corporate IT infrastructure or Cybersecurity environments.
  • Domain Literacy: A solid foundational understanding of modern IT/Security principles, network architecture, systems engineering, and information security frameworks.
  • Methodological Expertise: Strong project management skills, including an expert-level ability to plan, prioritize, track, and re-index tasks dynamically within a fast-moving, high-throughput ecosystem.
  • Software Tooling: High proficiency with enterprise project management software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro, Asana, or MS Project) alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Leadership & Soft Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. You must be comfortable presenting technical data points clearly to non-technical leaders and building authentic, collaborative relationships across different studio cultures.
  • Mindset: An intrinsic sense of personal ownership, sharp initiative, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the capacity to thrive amidst evolving priorities.

Desirable Pluses

Note: These skills are considered highly beneficial and advantageous to your application, but they are not hard prerequisites to apply.

  • Possession of industry-standard project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum Master certifications like CSM or PMI-ACP).
  • Industry-recognized technical security or infrastructure certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL framework alignment).
  • Prior experience managing infrastructure development within the entertainment, gaming, or high-scale streaming industries.
