In this role, you will create high-quality textures and shaders that bring our characters and worlds to life, ensuring they meet the artistic goals of the Art Director while maintaining technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Asset Creation: Develop textures and shaders for characters, props, and environments using Unreal Engine, Maya, and Substance Painter.
Artistic Alignment: Interpret visual direction and collaborate closely with Art Directors and CG Supervisors to ensure technical accuracy.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with Lighting and Compositing teams to ensure shaders meet final look requirements and optimized rendering performance.
Quality Control: Perform technical approvals for internal and external assets, participate in dailies, and provide constructive feedback to the wider team.
Mentorship: Lead by example by providing guidance, feedback, and documentation to junior artists.
Workflow Optimization: Troubleshoot surfacing issues and develop efficient libraries and best practices.

Key Requirements

Proven Experience: A strong background in texturing for Animation, VFX, or Games.
Technical Mastery: Advanced texture painting skills and expert experience with layered shaders in Unreal Engine (required) or Maya.
LookDev Expertise: Proven ability in look development and creating comprehensive shader libraries.
Efficiency: Strong understanding of optimization and asset reuse strategies.
Leadership: Ability to mentor talent and collaborate with production on task scoping and scheduling.
