Atlantis Animation is a distinctive studio located on the beautiful island of Tenerife, known for combining creative talent with high-end technology. following the success of Tara Duncan and Miraculous Ladybug (Season 5), we are embarking on a captivating new project: Messi and the Giants.
Produced by Sony Music Vision, Sony Pictures Television Kids, and Leo Messi Management for Disney, this epic saga follows a young Leo transported from Argentina to a fantastical alternate universe. We are looking for a Lead Animator to bring this ambitious vision to life.
The Role As the 3D Lead Animator, you will drive the quality and creativity of the animation team. Working closely with the Animation Supervisor, you will balance leadership duties with hands-on animation, ensuring the show’s style—blending action, emotion, and believable performance—is consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities :
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a team of animators. Manage assignments, workflow, and quotas effectively to avoid bottlenecks.
- Supervision & Feedback: Act as the bridge between production and the animation team. Provide regular, constructive feedback to ensure work meets the highest standards and strict deadlines.
- Creative Execution: Interpret storyboards, animatics, and director’s notes to create high-quality animation that aligns with the show’s visual style.
- Workflow Management: Collaborate with technical animators to maintain up-to-date documentation (Wikis) and ensure smooth data transfer within the pipeline.
- Representation: Attend dailies, present your team’s work, and guide artists on professional presentation standards.
Requirements :
- Experience: Previous experience leading or mentoring a team on a full 3D animation TV series is required.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in Maya. Solid understanding of rigs, animation pipelines, and scripting tools.
- Artistic Skills: Deep knowledge of animation principles (timing, spacing, weight, anticipation) and the ability to transfer these into 3D.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. A proactive problem-solver with a high level of spoken and written English.
- Eligibility: Must be an EU citizen or hold Spanish residency. This role is strictly on-site in Tenerife.
