The Role
As an Animator, you will be a vital part of our animation team, focusing on the creation and implementation of high-quality gameplay animations. You will breathe life into both biped and creature-based characters, ensuring they move with weight, personality, and technical precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gameplay Animation: Create inspiring, high-fidelity animations for a variety of characters and creatures.
- Technical Implementation: Apply core animation principles while optimizing assets to meet engine constraints and artistic direction.
- Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Work closely with Lead Animators, Designers, and Programmers to align animation with gameplay intent and technical requirements.
- Prototyping: Quickly previsualize and prototype animation systems to facilitate design discussions and iterate on feel.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify technical or aesthetic issues and propose creative solutions to maintain project timelines.
What We’re Looking For
- Exceptional Keyframe Skills: A portfolio/reel demonstrating high-quality character and creature gameplay animation.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced experience with Maya and modern game engines (Unreal Engine/Unity).
- Gameplay Focus: A deep understanding of how animation principles translate to player responsiveness and game mechanics.
- Bonus Skills: Experience with motion capture (mocap) editing, character rigging, or modeling is a significant plus.
- Team Player: A proactive, self-motivated individual who excels in a collaborative environment and handles feedback constructively.
