The Role: Senior Animator

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Senior Animator to join the Sports and Entertainment Brand Consulting team in Los Angeles. This role is ideal for a creative professional with a deep passion for motion design and a proven capability to produce impactful animated stories that push creative and visual boundaries.

The Senior Animator is expected to deliver high-caliber, award-winning animated solutions with minimal oversight. This includes:

  • Authoring core creative animation concepts and defining motion theories.
  • Exploring diverse execution approaches across 2D and 3D animation.
  • Delivering projects with originality and innovation, demonstrating a high degree of creativity and conceptual thinking.

Conceptualization & InnovationDevelop award-winning-level creative concepts and storyboards that translate ideas into clear, dynamic visual narratives.
Motion Theory & StorytellingApply a strong understanding of motion theory, timing, and pacing to create engaging animations that effectively communicate narratives and evoke emotional responses.
Animation Production & ExecutionProduce high-quality 2D/3D animations using industry-standard software (e.g., After Effects, Cinema 4D). This includes R&D, finishing, and high-volume versioning engineering for optimized efficiency.
Technical ExecutionEnsure smooth animation workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize files for various platforms and delivery formats.
Team Guidance & CommunicationGuide junior team members to execute a creative vision. Effectively present work and communicate creative decisions to clients and internal stakeholders.
Department InnovationContinuously research new animation techniques, software, and industry trends, providing recommendations to creative department management.

Required Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor of Arts or equivalent in Fine Arts, Communications, or Graphic Design, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical Mastery:
    • Demonstrated mastery of industry-standard animation software (e.g., After Effects, Cinema 4D, Maya) and a solid understanding of 2D and 3D animation principles.
  • Portfolio:
    • A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative animation styles, a strong visual aesthetic, and a unique artistic voice.
  • Animation Skills:
    • Excellent technical skills in core animation principles (timing, spacing, weight, squash, and stretch) and deep knowledge of animation workflows.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

A passion for brands in the entertainment, tech, and sports sectors, coupled with an awareness of industry trends.
Experience in sports and entertainment, including live event presentation (broadcast/streaming, toolkits, and in-venue).
