As a Junior Character Artist, you will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs into production-ready 3D models. Your work will define the visual tone for the heroes, rival factions, soldiers, and civilian populations inhabiting the world of Patriam.
Key Responsibilities:
- High-Poly Sculpting: Sculpt detailed character models demonstrating a strong understanding of human anatomy, realistic proportions, and historical drapery/armor.
- Optimization & Retopology: Transform complex, high-poly sculpts into clean, optimized, game-ready low-poly meshes that deform well during animation.
- UV & Baking: Execute efficient UV unwrapping layouts and bake pristine utility maps (Normal, Ambient Occlusion, Curvature, and Position).
- PBR Texturing: Create high-quality, believable textures that reflect the grit, wear, and atmospheric realities of a medieval setting.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work alongside concept artists to capture design intent and technical animators to ensure skeletal rigs align perfectly with your models.
Technical Requirements:
- Sculpting Toolsets: Advanced proficiency in digital sculpting software, specifically ZBrush (or equivalent).
- DCC Software: A solid foundation in traditional 3D modeling and retopology workflows using Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
