The Role
We are seeking a Junior Cleanup Animator to join our global animation team. This is an ideal role for an early-career animator who is passionate about the technical and artistic nuances of motion capture and character movement. You will work under the guidance of Senior Animators to refine animations, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and continuity.
Key Responsibilities ::
- Animation Refinement: Assist the team in creating high-quality animations; specifically cleaning up motion capture data and polishing rough animations.
- Pipeline Integration: Follow established production pipelines, including strict adherence to naming conventions and file-management practices.
- Continuity & Quality: Ensure visual and technical continuity across all assigned tasks and projects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Producers, Supervisors, and Technical Artists to ensure project milestones are met.
- Feedback Loops: Actively participate in reviews and apply constructive feedback from leads to improve shot quality.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience: 1–3 years of animation experience in a studio environment (relevant internships or advanced academic projects will be considered).
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Maya and Motion Builder.
- Core Skills: A solid understanding of the 12 principles of animation and experience animating humanoid characters and props.
- Specialization: Practical experience cleaning and refining motion capture data.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills are mandatory for our multicultural environment.
- Soft Skills: A positive attitude, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team setting.
Preferred Assets:
- Previous experience on a shipped game title or film production.
- Familiarity with animation scripts, rigging, and motion capture hardware systems.
- Experience using project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
