Spain Jobs 3D Animator job at Illusorium Studios

Spain jobs: Illusorium Studios is expanding its core character performance team in Madrid. We are actively seeking talented, resourceful 3D Animators at Mid and Senior levels to join our studio. Your core mission in this role will transcend basic keyframing; you are here to recreate complex human and creature emotions, translating them seamlessly into digital character movement that connects with an audience on a visceral level.

As a Mid/Senior 3D Animator, you will be trusted to safeguard the fragile equilibrium between high-end artistic quality, computational efficiency, and grounded common sense. (That phrase sounds pleasant on paper, but when a complex delivery window approaches and character rigs behave unpredictably, you quickly realize just how vital common sense truly is). This is a highly collaborative, production-hardened role suited for an artist who is technically self-sufficient, naturally curious, and determined to lift the capabilities of the entire animation group. For professionals searching for premier Spain jobs in the entertainment sector, this position offers the chance to work closely with Animation Leads, Technical Directors, and supervisors to refine internal procedures and ensure data flows smoothly across the entire studio ecosystem. spain jobs.

Key Responsibilities as 3D Animator

Your day-to-day contributions at Illusorium Studios will balance high-fidelity character performance with pipeline troubleshooting and cross-departmental communication:

1. High-Fidelity Character & Object Animation

  • Deconstruct, interpret, and execute the creative briefs, director specifications, and layout notes assigned to your specific animation shots and sequences.
  • Produce hyper-expressive, realistic, or highly stylized character and object animations that meet strict studio benchmarks for weight, timing, physics, and emotional storytelling.
  • Maintain absolute continuity of performance, character logic, and asset placement across overlapping shots within a sequence.
  • Iterate rapidly on rough blocking, spline passes, and secondary animation passes based on direct artistic feedback from the Animation Lead and Visual Effects Supervisor.

2. Pipeline Optimization & Tool Development

  • Partner proactively with the Animation Lead and Technical Directors to identify structural bottlenecks in the animation pipeline.
  • Contribute to the conceptualization, testing, and implementation of new scripts, plug-ins, and optimization tools designed to streamline daily animation mechanics.
  • Help document and standardize internal procedures, ensuring that best practices are passed down smoothly to incoming or junior team members.

3. Cross-Departmental Troubleshooting

  • Collaborate intimately with the Rigging department to evaluate character skeletons, pick up technical anomalies, and suggest skinning or mechanical improvements that unlock richer performance potential.
  • Coordinate with the Layout, Tracking, and Lighting/VFX teams to preemptively resolve asset mismatches, spatial inaccuracies, or intersection bugs before scenes are moved down the pipeline.
  • Take personal ownership of assigned scenes, ensuring files are cleanly organized, properly versioned, and perfectly optimized for the downstream rendering pipeline.
