Illusorium Studios is expanding its finishing and post-production team in Spain. We are actively seeking talented, resourceful professionals tracking top-tier Madrid jobs to step into Compositing Artist roles at both Mid and Senior levels, specializing in 3D animation. Your core mission in this role is the ultimate realization of the project: assembling, balancing, and polishing the final shots into their absolute complete versions, directly defining the final visual and narrative impact of our stories.
As a Mid/Senior Compositing Artist based in our Madrid studio, you are the final gateway for quality control. You will be trusted to safeguard the fragile equilibrium between high-end artistic quality, technical render efficiency, and grounded common sense. (That phrase sounds pleasant on paper, but when a complicated production deadline rolls around and multi-layered CG renders aren’t blending correctly, you quickly realize just how vital common sense truly is). Madrid Jobs.
This is a highly collaborative, production-hardened role suited for an artist who is technically self-sufficient, naturally curious, and determined to lift the capabilities of the entire post-production group. If you are one of those people who simply cannot help but fix an element when you notice it can be done better, you will thrive within our ecosystem. Madrid jobs.

We don’t believe in cutting corners or coasting on “good enough.” Our studio is built for professionals who take profound pride in their craftsmanship and genuinely enjoy the process of doing things exceptionally well.

Key Responsibilities as Compositing Artist
Your day-to-day contributions at Illusorium Studios will balance high-fidelity multi-pass compositing with optimization scripting and cross-departmental alignment, Madrid jobs:
1. Final Shot Composition & Element Integration
- Execute the final compositing of complex CG layers and multi-pass renders (Beauty, Albedo, Z-Depth, AO, Motion Vectors) to deliver final, production-ready shots.
- Seamlessly integrate complex volumetric effects, atmospheric dynamics, and fluid/particle elements provided by the FX department.
- Manipulate and balance depth, lighting, atmosphere, color grading, and overall visual harmony to match the designated look-development keys.
- Safeguard strict visual and technical consistency across adjacent shots, complex sequences, and full episodes.
2. Script Optimization & Tool Maintenance
- Build, optimize, and maintain complex Nuke compositing scripts and templates to prevent memory bloat and accelerate farm render times.
- Proactively develop shared gizmos, expressions, or automation setups that solve repetitive compositing problems across the wider team.
- Troubleshoot corrupted scripts, broken read nodes, or deep data channels autonomously without disrupting standard pipeline pacing.
3. Upstream Department Collaboration
- Coordinate directly with the Lighting and Rendering departments to address pass discrepancies, map allocations, or render noise at the source.
- Provide clear, technical feedback to upstream teams regarding data requirements (such as specific ID passes or utility channels) needed to achieve complex visual balances.
- Ensure all final elements comply perfectly with downstream delivery codecs, resolutions, and color-space workflows (e.g., ACES).
Role Requirements
We are searching for a technical and artistic professional who understands the unique cadences of a real-world, fast-moving production environment.
Required Qualifications & Experience

- Artistic Aptitude: An exceptional, highly developed artistic eye for color, lighting ratios, composition, perspective, contrast, and photorealism/stylized aesthetics.
- Upstream Literacy: A solid foundational knowledge of 3D Lighting and Rendering processes (e.g., Arnold, V-Ray, or RenderMan workflows) and how AOV passes interact inside a comp.
- Language Proficiency: English language skills at a B2 level or higher to ensure smooth communication with internal teams and international clients.
- Geographic Availability: You must currently reside in, or be fully willing to relocate to, Madrid, Spain for regular on-site studio operations.

- A proactive, solution-oriented personality—someone who identifies pipeline flaws and builds immediate, actionable processes to improve them.
- Strong organizational habits, ensuring heavy script trees remain legible, well-documented, and easily readable by other artists who may inherit your files.Madrid jobs
