Position Summary
The Graphic Artist is a permanent, full-time role responsible for supporting the Video Graphics department in delivering high-quality design services, primarily to the Network 10 newsroom and other Operations divisions as needed. This is a fast-paced, high-stakes role demanding effective communication, precision, and excellent time management to meet tight news deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Production of Graphics (2D/3D):
- Receive and process graphic requests from Producers and Reporters. Ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate, clear, and visually appealing static and animated graphics that align with the tone of the story and meet all technical requirements and deadlines.
- Shift Leading:
- Attend morning editorial meetings, effectively manage the daily graphics workload to ensure critical deadlines are met across all markets, liaise with Executive Producers, and perform quality checks on produced graphics.
- Mentorship:
- Assist in training and mentoring junior designers to advance their technical skills and production knowledge.
- Project Work:
- Contribute to special projects, including the development of new graphics packages, themed elements, and template creation.
- Administration:
- Provide general team administrative support as required.
Required Skills and Experience
- Technical Proficiency: Outstanding attention to detail and a proficient, working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including:
- Photoshop
- Illustrator
- After Effects
- Media Encoder
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Technical Advantage: Vizrt, 3D software experience, and programming skills are a definite advantage.
- Professional Skills:
- Exceptionally high level of organizational skills and effective problem-solving ability.
- Mature, friendly, and professional communication skills for effective stakeholder management.
- A fast learner with the ability to use initiative, plan work effectively, multi-task, and take precise direction.
