The Role
Able&Baker is seeking talented 3D Character Animators at all levels of experience to join our team in the Canary Islands. You will be responsible for bringing a diverse cast of characters, creatures, and props to life, maintaining high artistic standards from initial blocking through to final polish. We are looking for versatile artists who excel at visual storytelling and character performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality animation that demonstrates appealing posing and believable motion.
- Execute character performances that align with the director’s vision and the film’s narrative style.
- Apply a deep understanding of body mechanics, anatomy, and timing to all assignments.
- Collaborate with Lead Animators and Supervisors to iterate on scenes based on creative feedback.
- Maintain technical consistency within the Maya-based production pipeline.
Candidate Profile
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Maya.
- Artistic Skillset: Strong grasp of traditional animation principles (timing, weight, and squash/stretch).
- Versatility: Experience animating creatures or animals is considered a significant advantage.
- Communication: Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
- Soft Skills: A collaborative mindset, a proactive attitude, and the ability to adapt to creative changes.
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in Spain.
Work Model & Location
- Primary Location: On-site at our Gran Canaria studio is preferred.
- Remote Options: Candidates based on other islands within the Canary Islands will be considered.
- Priority: Preference will be given to candidates already residing in the Canary Islands.
