The Role: Senior Animator
We are seeking a talented, fast, and highly collaborative Senior Animator to join our studio team. The ideal candidate is a mid to senior-level professional with the perfect blend of design and animation expertise, paired with a highly creative approach from concept to execution. This role requires the ability to quickly adapt to changes in design and direction while maintaining a high level of execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Key Responsibilities
- Create and deliver rich animations in various digital formats, including 2D/3D animation, motion graphics, and visual effects.
- Collaborate with creative leads to produce animations for client videos, both independently and integrated with live-action shots.
- Design and create characters, backgrounds, and other assets for animation.
- Rig characters and objects for animation, ensuring lifelike and appealing motion.
- Transform raw footage and narrative scripts into powerful visual stories and highly kinetic pieces for screens of all sizes.
- Perform related multimedia functions such as scratch-track audio recording, audio/video duplication, and compression as needed.
- Work independently, while also having the ability to interpret, execute, and enhance concepts and ideas from other team members.
- Develop templates and maintain asset libraries for use across multiple projects.
- Present the creative vision and business thinking behind concepts in a coherent and inspiring manner.
- Collaborate with creative stakeholders and graphic designers to generate storyboards and graphic assets, always maintaining an understanding of client-side branding and vision.
- Qualifications
- 5–8 years of professional video/motion graphics experience in a web, broadcast, or marketing firm environment.
- Expert proficiency in After Effects (including Boris FX Mocha and Red Giant Universe; BCC and Sapphire plugins are a plus).
- Strong integration experience with Adobe Premiere.
- Experience with 3D software (Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D, Blender) and relevant plugins (MoGraph, RealFlow, Trapcode).
- Proficient in Illustrator and Photoshop, with the ability to transfer layers and effects seamlessly into After Effects.
- Strong typography, composition, and storytelling abilities.
- A self-starter with a proactive approach from concept development through to final execution.
- A strong desire to continually expand repertoire by learning new software and techniques.
- Experience with compositing, multi-pass renders, and/or VR workflows is a plus.
