The Role
Epic Games is looking for a Gameplay Animation Intern to join the Fortnite Events Team. This isn’t just about loops—you will be crafting the cinematic, narrative animations that define Fortnite’s massive live events. You’ll work directly in Unreal Engine to tell the ongoing story of the Fortnite universe, learning from world-class leads to create experiences that reach millions of players.
What You’ll Do ::
- Animate the Universe: Create high-quality character and creature animations using our proprietary in-house rigs.
- Master the Engine: Work directly within Unreal Engine to implement and refine animations for live-event scenarios.
- Collaborate & Create: Partner with designers and artists to ensure every movement fits the iconic Fortnite visual style.
- Professional Growth: Work under a dedicated mentor to level up your technical skills and workflow efficiency.
- Innovate: Contribute to the development of new animation features and internal team processes.
The “Must-Haves
- A Top-Tier Reel: You must provide a portfolio showing exceptional key-framed character and creature work, including expressive facial animation.
- Software Fluency: Mastery of Maya, Blender, or Unreal Engine.
- Artistic Range: The ability to execute both realistic weight and “snappy” stylized motion.
- Communication: A proactive approach to solving creative and technical hurdles with a team.
