UFX Studios is entering an exciting phase and we are gearing up for a series of ambitious new projects launching from January 2026 in our Walloon office in Genval (20 km from Brussels). We are looking for passionate talents to join us in shaping this next chapter of UFX Studios’ development.

Role Overview

As a VFX Compositor, you will be primarily responsible for the artistic and technical assembly, integration, and finalization of complex visual effects shots. This involves meticulously combining rendered CG elements, live-action plates, FX passes, and matte paintings to deliver visually seamless and highly polished results. You will work in close collaboration with the CG, FX, and Lighting teams to ensure exceptional consistency, realism, and artistic quality across all assigned project shots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integration: Seamlessly integrate CG elements, FX simulations, live-action footage, and matte paintings to produce cohesive and visually convincing final shots.
  • Technical Proficiency: Execute high-level color matching, roto/paint, keying, tracking, and clean-up to ensure immaculate compositing.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Supervisors and the CG/FX departments to fully understand shot requirements, ensuring technical accuracy and artistic alignment.
  • Problem-Solving: Efficiently troubleshoot complex compositing issues and design streamlined workflows for challenging sequences.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold the final quality of shots, strictly adhering to established visual styles, respecting production deadlines, and incorporating feedback effectively.

Profile

We are looking for a dedicated professional with:

  • Experience: 3 to 6 years of experience as a Compositor within a professional VFX, animation, or post-production studio environment.
  • Software Mastery: Strong proficiency in Nuke, including advanced skills in compositing, keying, roto/paint, integration, and AOV management.
  • Technical Acumen: A good understanding of CG pipelines, including lighting principles, rendering passes (AOVs), and FX workflows, is a distinct advantage.
  • Artistic Skill: Excellent skills in color grading, photographic principles, and maintaining visual continuity throughout a sequence.
  • Soft Skills: Proven ability to analyze and efficiently solve complex technical or artistic challenges.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, demonstrated capacity for effective collaboration with CG/FX teams, and the ability to work autonomously in a demanding, fast-paced production environment.
