Core Responsibilities & Tasks

1. Visionary Character Animation

• Holistic Vision: Act as the primary 2D Animator responsible for shaping the cohesive animation identity of a flagship project. You will ensure that every movement aligns with the established “Playrix Style.”
• Advanced Skeleton Rigging: Creating intricate and expressive idle and active character animations (humans and animals) using Esoteric Software Spine.
• Visual Storytelling: Using movement to guide the viewer’s attention, ensuring that key gameplay elements are highlighted through fluid, intentional animation.

2. Technical Excellence & Optimization

• Performance Balancing: Every 2D Animator at Playrix must master the balance between high-fidelity visual quality and mobile performance. You will optimize animations to minimize file size and CPU impact without losing the “juice.”
• Asset Integration: Preparing and exporting assets from Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate into Spine, ensuring a seamless technical pipeline.
• Problem Solving: Addressing complex technical animation challenges, such as layering, mesh deformation, and complex constraints within the Spine environment.

3. Collaborative Leadership

• Technical Independence: Demonstrating a high level of autonomy in managing tasks and technical aspects of the animation pipeline.
• Cross-Departmental Synergy: Working closely with 2D artists, UI designers, and programmers to ensure that animations integrate perfectly with the game engine.

Professional Requirements

• Professional Longevity: A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a professional character animator within the gaming industry.
• Mastery of Tools: Expert-level proficiency in Spine, Adobe Animate, and Adobe Photoshop.
