M2 is seeking a proactive, artistically minded, and technically proficient Editor to join our editorial department. In the world of animation, the Editor is the secondary director. The Script: Your Duties and Responsibilities
As an Editor at M2 Animation, you are the final gatekeeper of quality and pacing. Your mission includes:
1. Narrative and Creative Contribution
- Story Synergy: Work closely with Directors to follow established edit directions. However, we value your voice—you are encouraged to inject your own creative ideas to enhance the film’s impact.
- Pacing & Timing: Manage the rhythm of animated sequences, ensuring that comedy lands, action hits, and emotional beats resonate.
2. Technical Execution
- Mastery of Tools: Operate at a high level within Adobe Premiere Pro, managing complex timelines and multi-layered sequences.
- Pipeline Awareness: Maintain a deep technical understanding of how editorial decisions impact downstream departments like Lighting, FX, and Color Grading.
- Independent Management: Handle smaller projects independently while coordinating with Producers or Managers to ensure all technical specs are met.
3. Leadership and Collaboration
- Mentorship: Take our Junior Artists under your wing, providing guidance on both the technical and artistic aspects of editing.
- Collaboration: Foster an atmosphere of teamwork. You will be the central link between various creative departments and production management.
- Professionalism: Take direction and constructive criticism with a professional mindset, always striving for the best version of the film.
