DNEG, a global leader in award-winning visual effects, is seeking an industry-proven VFX Supervisor to join our team in Sydney. This permanent, hybrid role is a pivotal position, translating the Director’s creative vision into stunning, Oscar-worthy visuals while guiding our internal teams from concept development through final delivery.
We are looking for a collaborative leader respected for their artistic judgement, ability to set high creative standards, and seamless problem-solving across the entire production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities & Impact:
- Creative Stewardship: Provide expert direction, setting the creative bar across all show work and approving final assets to ensure they meet DNEG’s exceptional visual standards (light, composition, cinematic design, motion).
- On-Set & Virtual Production: Advise, guide, and supervise VFX and Virtual Production shoots, offering creative and technical solutions in collaboration with production shoot departments (Cinematography, Art Department, Lidar, etc.).
- Global Collaboration: Direct creative and technical teams across all digital departments (CG/Asset, Comp) within DNEG’s global, multi-time-zone structure.
- Client & Crew Management: Maintain outstanding client service, resolving creative and technical blockers with elegant solutions while providing clear, motivational leadership to the crew.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

- Extensive VFX post-production experience.
- Minimum of 2-3 major feature films previously supervised (CG Supervisor or VFX Supervisor).
- Exceptional creative eye and aesthetic judgement, with a strong understanding of composition, light, and colour.
- Comprehensive digital post-production competency across all department pipelines (CG, Comp, Assets).
- Proven On-set supervision experience.
- Expert command of industry-standard software: Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Unreal Engine, and various render solutions.
- Financial acumen and competency in budget management.
