Opportunity Overview
Blue Zoo is looking for a talented and experienced Storyboard Artist to join our team, starting in January 2026. This role is open to discussion for flexible, hybrid, or remote working options.
Our Storyboard Artists are essential in bringing narrative, staging, character, and comedy to life. You will work closely with the Director and Supervisor to create coherent, dynamic, and narrative-driven boards.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director and Supervisor to create coherent and finished storyboards.
- Collaborate with the writing team and Supervisor to inform the narrative and comedy of each episode.
- Interpret and effectively apply comedic timing derived from the scripts.
- Maintain consistency and perspective when drawing characters throughout all boards, ensuring they remain strictly on model.
- Work alongside project Directors to ensure all required fixes and feedback are built into the boards efficiently.
Essential Qualifications
Must Haves
- Exceptional narrative and drawing skills: Clear grasp of staging, character, and comedy.
- Technical Mastery: Demonstrable knowledge of PanelForge.
- Artistic Knowledge: Excellent understanding of perspective, layout, and composition.
- Storytelling: A demonstrated and accomplished understanding of story and staging.
- Communication: Ability to communicate emotive character and witty comedy throughout boards.
- Professional Experience: Previous production experience in the animation industry.
- Work Ethic: The ability to deliver on schedule, working calmly and efficiently under pressure.
