Rodeo FX is hiring Producer, Canada 2026

Rodeo FX, a name synonymous with cinematic excellence and visual wonder, is inviting a high-level Producer to join its premier live-action and content division: Rodeo Production.

Repeatedly voted one of Montreal’s Top Employers and recipient of the prestigious 2022 Mercuriades Award for “Employer of the Year,” Rodeo FX has spent the last two decades redefining what is possible in the creative industry. While our VFX wing has secured an Oscar® and multiple Emmy® nominations for masterpieces like Stranger Things, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, Rodeo Production serves as the vanguard for high-end commercial, editorial, and experiential content.

This is not a traditional VFX production role; it is a seat at the table of our live-action and photography boutique. We are looking for an industry veteran to lead our 2026 summer-to-winter slate, overseeing projects for the world’s most iconic brands in fashion, beauty, sports, and music.

As a Producer, you are the architect of these creative endeavors. You are responsible for managing the technical and creative friction that occurs when high-end artistic vision meets the logistical realities of high-stakes commercial production. You are the guardian of the client’s budget, the artist’s integrity, and the studio’s reputation for excellence.

1. Strategic Bidding and Fiscal Architecture Your role begins long before the camera rolls. You will analyze complex creative briefs to identify core objectives, target demographics, and the “soul” of the project.

  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with department heads to build bespoke bidding strategies and surgical budgets that reflect the prestige of the Rodeo brand while remaining competitive.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage the P&L of every project. You are responsible for ensuring healthy margins and providing financial transparency to Executive Producers and the leadership team.
  • Negotiation: Act as the primary point of contact for budgetary shifts. When a client requests an “impossible” pivot, you find the middle ground that preserves quality without compromising the studio’s financial health.

2. Comprehensive Project Lifecycle Management You will serve as the project’s central nervous system, coordinating every moving part from the initial “yes” to the final delivery.

  • Pre-Production: Orchestrate the logistics of casting, location scouting, and crew hiring. Ensure all AQTIS and AICCP regulations are strictly followed.
  • On-Set Leadership: Oversee live-action shoots and photo sessions. You are the person who keeps the production moving, resolving conflicts in real-time and ensuring the Director or Photographer has the resources needed to excel.
  • Post-Production Oversight: While this isn’t a VFX-heavy role, you will collaborate with the post teams at Rodeo FX to ensure color grading, editing, and adaptations for global distribution channels are executed flawlessly.

3. Artist Representation and Talent Mentorship A producer at Rodeo Production is an advocate for art. You will work closely with our roster of creators to ensure their unique visual signatures are respected and enhanced by the production process.

  • Resource Strategy: Determine the best “match” between an artist’s style and a client’s brand identity.
  • Culture Building: Mentor junior production staff and coordinators, instilling the “Rodeo Way”—a blend of obsessive attention to detail, creative courage, and professional rigor.

4. Business Evolution and Market Positioning Help shape the future of the department. You will contribute to the strategic development of our artist roster and help update our production toolsets.

  • Technological Integration: Explore and implement new workflows, whether they involve procedural production tools, AI-assisted scheduling, or innovative distribution strategies.

We are seeking a “heavyweight” in the world of commercial production. The ideal candidate has spent a decade navigating the complexities of high-fashion shoots, automotive commercials, and large-scale experiential events.

  • The 10-Year Milestone: You must have at least 10 years of experience in advertising, photography, and video production. Your name is recognized in the Montreal and international production community.
  • Technical & Legal Fluency: You have a deep understanding of AQTIS and AICCP. You can navigate a union set with confidence and expertise.
  • Digital Mastery: Expert proficiency in G Suite, Mac OS, and professional production software (e.g., Hot Budget, Dropbox, Microsoft Office).
  • Global Mindset: You are ready to travel. Our clients are based in New York, Paris, Los Angeles, and beyond; your passport is always ready.
  • Communication: You are bilingual (French/English) and possess the interpersonal “soft skills” to manage high-profile clients and visionary artists who may have conflicting priorities.

Life at Rodeo FX: More Than Just a Contract

Why Join Us for this Mandate?

  • The Reputation: You will be representing a studio that is globally respected. When you walk onto a set as a Rodeo Producer, you carry a legacy of Oscar-winning quality.
  • The Talent: You will work with the most prestigious photographers and directors in North America.
  • The Environment: Based in the heart of Montreal, our studio is a hub of creative energy, blending the best of live-action, VFX, and experiential technology.
  • Innovation: We are pioneers. We actively use and explore AI-based tools (such as interview transcription and data analysis) to support our recruitment and production processes, always ensuring that the final “human touch” remains the deciding factor.
