🎬 About the Role – FX Supervisor
We’re looking for a highly skilled and passionate FX Supervisor to lead our talented FX department in Mumbai. You’ll play a key role in driving the creative and technical execution of complex effects for films and TV shows.
In this role, you’ll guide the FX team in crafting realistic simulations — from fire, smoke, water, magical FX, and destruction to breathtaking large-scale environments. You’ll collaborate closely with VFX and CG Supervisors, Producers, and other department leads to set the FX vision, plan workflows, and ensure seamless integration across 2D and 3D pipelines.
You’ll also mentor artists, troubleshoot challenges, and work with our global team to maintain Outpost’s high-quality standards — ensuring every project exceeds client expectations. 🌟
🧠 Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspire the FX team throughout all production stages.
- Define and implement FX workflows, creative direction, and technical standards.
- Collaborate with CG, Lighting, and Compositing teams for seamless integration.
- Troubleshoot render and simulation issues efficiently using Houdini and related tools.
- Provide feedback, mentorship, and performance support to artists.
- Optimize FX pipelines in collaboration with Pipeline and R&D teams.
⚙️ What You’ll Bring
✅ Proven experience as an FX Supervisor or Senior FX Lead on high-end VFX projects
✅ Expertise in Houdini (fluids, pyro, smoke, particles, destruction)
✅ Familiarity with Maya, Nuke, Arnold, Mantra, Karma
✅ Deep understanding of FX pipelines, data management, and cross-department collaboration
✅ Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a collaborative mindset
✅ Experience with Python/VEX scripting and ShotGrid or similar production tools
✅ A strong eye for photo-realism, timing, and cinematic storytelling
