Course Architecture & World-Building Authentic Recreation: Assist in recreating world-famous, real-world golf courses by analyzing and translating real-world reference data, satellite imagery, and terrain maps into the game engine. Fictional Conception: Design and build original, fictional courses from scratch, executing all phases of level design from initial conceptual layouts to final asset placement. Gameplay Layouts: Design and implement supplementary game modes and spatial challenges (e.g., specific skill challenges, tutorials, and mini-games) on top of existing level architecture. 2. Art Collaboration & Technical Execution Visual Set Dressing: Flesh out the microscopic visual needs of a course—including foliage, terrain blending, water hazards, and architectural placement—collaborating with the Environment Art team to lock down the final look. Pipeline Compliance: Adhere closely to studio-established processes for file management, level integration, build verification, and repository check-ins. Tool Testing & Vetting: Provide operational feedback on our user-facing and proprietary Course Designer tools. Partner with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to identify, isolate, and log bugs with precise reproduction steps. Skills, Knowledge, and Experience Core Design & Technical Criteria Industry Tenure: Typically up to 2 years of professional industry experience in Game Design, or a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant experience in digital level design or real-world golf course design. Golf Literacy: A solid understanding of golf course design principles from a playability, strategy, and sports-logic perspective (e.g., risk-reward routing, green topology, and hazard placement). Engine Familiarity: Familiarity with the Unity game engine is a strong secondary asset. PGA Toolset Knowledge: Direct experience using the public, player-facing Course Designer toolset within the PGA TOUR 2K series is considered a massive advantage. Professional Competencies Technical Adaptability: A proven ability to quickly learn proprietary studio software, tools, and intricate technical pipelines.
