Wild Child hiring for 2D Animator (multiple roles available)
Wild Child Animation is expanding our 2D Animation team for the upcoming production: Captain Onion’s Buoyant Academy for Wayward Youth — a co-production with ALT Animation Ltd and Studio Meala. This 50 x 11-minute energetic, comedy-driven animated adventure is aimed at 7–12 year olds, with themes of friendship and belonging at its core. The show was co-developed with BBC Children’s & Education through the BBC Ignite animation programme and has received an International Co-production award from the UK Global Screen Fund. We’re seeking passionate animators to join us across multiple roles — from Junior to Lead. 📍 Location: Stirling, Scotland (Hybrid / Remote / On-site) What We’re Looking For Ideally 2+ years of industry experience in 2D animation (Junior roles may have less). Strong skills in Toon Boom Harmony. Knowledge of 2D FX is a bonus. Solid understanding of the animation pipeline. Must be based in the UK with the right to work (priority for Scotland & Regional UK, i.e. outside the M25). Role Details Positions available: Lead, Senior, Mid, Junior Contract: Freelance (minimum 1 year) – freelancers manage their own taxes and do not qualify for paid leave. Start dates: Late November 2025 – January 2026 (staggered). Work style: Remote, Hybrid, or On-site (Stirling studio). Hours: 7 per day (typically 10am–6pm, Mon–Fri).
