In this role, you will be a key contributor to the visual development of high-profile game projects, creating character concepts and assets that define the narrative and gameplay experience.
Working under the guidance of our Art Director, you will help shape the aesthetic direction of our titles, moving seamlessly between realistic and stylized art styles. Key Responsibilities
- Creative Execution: Develop high-quality character concepts and 2D assets that align with the game’s narrative, design requirements, and overarching technical specifications.
- Artistic Vision: Collaborate closely with the Art Director to ensure all creative output adheres to the project’s specific aesthetic goals, whether realistic or stylized.
- Quality Benchmarking: Actively contribute to setting and maintaining benchmarks for both visual and technical quality, ensuring that work is optimized for performance without sacrificing artistry.
- Pipeline Flexibility: Demonstrate the ability to adapt to diverse art styles and varied production pipelines, maintaining consistent visual quality across all tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with fellow artists and leads to identify opportunities to enhance the team’s overall workflow, quality, and creative efficiency.
- Leadership by Example: Serve as a mentor and role model for peers, consistently demonstrating high standards of work ethic, technical skill, and artistic integrity.
Requirements
- Versatile Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a mastery of 2D art, with a specific focus on character design. Must show the ability to work in multiple styles, from grounded realism to expressive stylization.
- Technical Proficiency: A deep understanding of digital painting techniques, composition, color theory, and character anatomy.
- Production Mindset: Experience working within game development pipelines is highly valued. You understand the necessity of optimizing assets for technical integration.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills. You should be comfortable receiving feedback from leads and Art Directors and translating that feedback into refined visual assets.
- Professionalism: Strong time-management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a remote, collaborative work environment.
