  • Artist Management: Work directly with artists to ensure they have a crystal-clear understanding of their daily and weekly schedules.
  • Information Traffic Control: Coordinate the flow of elements, assets, and data between different departments (e.g., ensuring the Lighting team has the latest FX renders).
  • Review Session Leadership: Organize and run daily review sessions (Dailies), capturing detailed, actionable notes from supervisors and distributing them to the relevant teams immediately.
  • Database Management: Maintain the production database (ShotGrid) with real-time accuracy, updating shot statuses, versioning, and delivery dates.
  • Client Deliverables: Coordinate the secure transfer of materials to and from the client using FTP software, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
  • Problem Identification: Proactively identify potential delays or technical hurdles and escalate them to the Line Producer before they impact the broader schedule.

Professional Requirements: Your Background

We are seeking individuals who have cut their teeth in high-pressure production environments and possess a deep understanding of the intricate “domino effect” inherent in a VFX pipeline.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Production Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5+ years of production experience specifically on high-end VFX or animation projects.

  • Deadline Driven: A proven track record of meeting strict delivery dates while adapting to shifting project timelines.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to distill complex information into succinct, accurate instructions.
  • Education: Diploma or equivalent education in Film, Media, or Business.

  • Scripting/Web: Basic HTML or Wiki skills for maintaining internal production documentation.
  • Database Software: Familiarity with FileMaker Pro or custom studio tracking tools.

About You: The Production Mindset

Great coordinators aren’t just good with data; they are good with people. DNEG Sydney looks for individuals who bring positive energy and structural stability to the team.

  • The Self-Starter: You are proactive and don’t wait for a task list; you see a gap in information and you fill it.
  • The Calm Professional: You remain steady and focused when production pressure ramps up and deadlines shorten.
  • The Adaptable Strategist: You show initiative when scenarios change, pivoting your priorities to support the team’s immediate needs.
  • The Film Enthusiast: You have a genuine passion for the industry and an appreciation for the art and science behind visual effects.
  • The Positive Catalyst: You maintain a “can-do” attitude that keeps the production environment healthy and collaborative.

Workplace Flexibility & Location

The Sydney Studio: We believe that high-end VFX is a collaborative sport. Our Sydney office is designed to foster the connections that make our work award-winning. For this reason, we ask our coordinators to be available for in-person collaboration at least two days per week.

Eligibility: The ideal candidate must have the legal right to work in Australia. If you are not currently based in Sydney, relocation will be required to be considered for active roles once they open.
