Key Responsibilities Character Performance: Create high-quality animation for characters and creatures, focusing on realistic body mechanics and expressive facial performances. Storytelling: Interpret storyboards and 3D layouts to effectively communicate the narrative through movement. Technical Integration: Work closely with the Rigging and Technical Direction teams to provide feedback on character rigs and ensure smooth integration into the lighting and rendering pipeline. Collaboration: Participate in dailies and creative reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain visual consistency across the project. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical or creative issues within the animation pipeline to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality. Required Skills and Experience Professional Background: A minimum of 3–8 years of experience in a professional animation studio environment, preferably working on feature films, high-quality TV series, or cinematic game trailers. Software Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard software, specifically Autodesk Maya. Familiarity with other tools such as Blender or Unreal Engine is a significant plus. Artistic Foundation: A profound understanding of the 12 principles of animation. You should be able to demonstrate a mastery of squash and stretch, anticipation, and follow-through. Adaptability: The ability to switch between stylized, cartoony movement and realistic, physics-based animation depending on project requirements. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills.
