The Role: Mid to Senior Level Animator Eplus Studio is seeking an Animator who possesses a deep understanding of weight, timing, and performance. In this role, you will be responsible for bringing characters to life, ensuring that every movement tells a story and every frame meets our rigorous quality standards. As a Mid-Level Animator, you will be expected to handle complex sequences with minimal supervision, demonstrating a strong grasp of the principles of animation. As a Senior-Level Animator, you will not only produce top-tier animation but also serve as a mentor to junior talent, helping to define the animation style for specific projects and streamlining production workflows. Key Responsibilities Character Performance: Create high-quality animation for characters and creatures, focusing on realistic body mechanics and expressive facial performances. Storytelling: Interpret storyboards and 3D layouts to effectively communicate the narrative through movement. Technical Integration: Work closely with the Rigging and Technical Direction teams to provide feedback on character rigs and ensure smooth integration into the lighting and rendering pipeline. Collaboration: Participate in dailies and creative reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain visual consistency across the project. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical or creative issues within the animation pipeline to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality. Mentorship (Senior Level): Lead by example, sharing advanced techniques and best practices with the wider animation team to elevate the studio’s overall output. Required Skills and Experience Professional Background: A minimum of 3–8 years of experience in a professional animation studio environment, preferably working on feature films, high-quality TV series, or cinematic game trailers. Software Proficiency: Mastery of industry-standard software, specifically Autodesk Maya. Familiarity with other tools such as Blender or Unreal Engine is a significant plus. Artistic Foundation: A profound understanding of the 12 principles of animation. You should be able to demonstrate a mastery of squash and stretch, anticipation, and follow-through. Adaptability: The ability to switch between stylized, cartoony movement and realistic, physics-based animation depending on project requirements. Communication: Strong interpersonal skills.
