The music department is a fast-paced environment where creativity meets technical precision. As a Music Intern, you will assist in the daily operations of the music team, ensuring the sonic vision of our games is perfectly realized.
1. Music Implementation and Testing
- Playing The Game: One of your most vital tasks! You will spend significant time in-game to monitor the state of the music, ensuring that transitions are seamless and that the emotional “beats” of the soundtrack trigger correctly during gameplay.
- Player Experience Focus: You will maintain a music-centric focus on the overall player experience, identifying areas where the score can better support the narrative or combat intensity.
2. Technical Production Support
- Session Preparation: Assisting with the setup of recording facilities and preparing DAW sessions for composers and engineers.
- System Setup: Handling rudimentary music implementation tasks within the game engine and audio middleware.
- Asset Management: Proofreading music metadata, organizing libraries, and ensuring all assets are correctly named and integrated.
3. Creative Editing and Spotting
- Music Editing: Performing rudimentary music edits to fit specific scene lengths or gameplay requirements.
- Music Spotting: Assisting in the process of “spotting” scenes to determine exactly where music should start, stop, and change intensity.

Mandatory Eligibility
- Age: Minimum 18 years old at the start of the internship.
- Academic Status: You must be a fresh high school graduate or currently enrolled as a university student.
- Residency: You must reside in Poland throughout the entire duration of the internship (July–September).

- Middleware: A basic understanding of Wwise and how it manages interactive audio.
- Musical Literacy: Basic understanding of music notation and familiarity with notation software. You should have a solid grasp of music theory.
- Industry Awareness: A strong understanding of how music playback functions in video games compared to linear media.
- Franchise Familiarity: Deep familiarity with the musical styles and scores of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077.
“Nice-to-Have” Skills
- Familiarity with Reaper, Logic Pro, or Unreal Engine.
- Ability to play a musical instrument at an intermediate level.

Portfolio and Cover Letter Requirements
Your application will be evaluated on your passion and your technical potential. To be considered, please attach:
- A Portfolio: Music samples that showcase your composition, editing, or implementation skills.
- A Cover Letter: This is your chance to tell us why you are a fit for CD PROJEKT RED. Explain your relationship with game music and why you want to launch your career with us.
