Are you a veteran coder who feels restricted by the rigid, siloed structures of AAA “factory” development? Do you want to write code that doesn’t just implement a minor feature, but defines the very physics, intelligence, and tactile “feel” of a game? Rendered Ideas is searching for a brilliant, high-aptitude Senior Game Developer to join our autonomous indie collective and serve as a technical pillar for our upcoming titles.
At Rendered Ideas, we don’t hire “programmers” to simply clear tickets from a backlog. We hire Game Developers—architects who understand that elegant code is the invisible art form that makes a game world feel real. We are a self-funded studio with no client demands and zero external interference. Here, the engineering team has the absolute freedom to research and implement “Top Notch” development processes, ensuring that every line of code contributes to a world-class player experience across mobile and PC platforms.

What We Offer: The Ultimate Developer Environment
A Senior Game Developer at Rendered Ideas is more than an employee; you are a key stakeholder in our creative laboratory. We have designed our studio to be a sanctuary for those who love the craft of programming.
- Direct Participation in Profit-Sharing: We believe the people who solve the hardest technical challenges should reap the highest rewards. Our profit-sharing scheme is provided entirely on top of your CTC. When our games succeed globally on Steam or the App Store, you share in that victory directly.
- Small & Autonomous Indie Teams: You will work in a high-trust, low-bureaucracy environment. You and your team have 100% freedom to decide the gameplay, the “feel,” and the technical architecture. There are no “middle managers” to second-guess your logic.
- Pure Product Development: We build our own IPs. There are no external clients to satisfy, no arbitrary deadlines from marketing agencies, and no legacy codebases from third parties that you didn’t choose yourself.
- R&D and Intellectual Freedom: We encourage you to spend dedicated time researching cutting-edge development processes. Whether it’s exploring new procedural generation techniques or optimizing multi-threaded networking protocols, you have the autonomy to lead that innovation.
- Full-Stack Game Engineering: Unlike specialized roles in massive studios where you might only touch “UI” or “Physics,” here you will touch everything. You’ll work on AI, Networking, Tool Development, and Engine-level optimization.
Detailed Job Description
As a Senior Game Developer at Rendered Ideas, your mission is to transform ambitious creative concepts into stable, highly optimized, and performant digital realities. You are the bridge between the designer’s imagination and the player’s hardware.
1. Full-Spectrum Game Engineering
You will collaborate with our tight-knit indie team to develop high-quality games for Mobile (Android, iOS) and PC (Steam). You aren’t just coding a character’s movement; you are deciding the friction, the gravity, and the input latency that makes that movement feel iconic. You have full creative and technical input on the game’s “feel.”
2. Mastery of Diverse Disciplines
A Senior Game Developer at Rendered Ideas is expected to be a master of the “Game Dev Polymath” mindset. You will dive into:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI): Creating sophisticated, optimized NPC behaviors that challenge players without draining system resources.
- Networking: Implementing robust, low-latency systems for multiplayer synchronization and data persistence.
- Pathfinding: Developing highly efficient navigation systems for complex, dynamic 3D and 2D environments.
- Tool Development: Building the custom editors and pipelines that empower our artists and designers to work at the speed of thought.
3. Clean, Optimized, and Modular Code
You will architect independent modules that are stable and highly optimized. We value performance above all else. You will write code that maintains 60 FPS (or higher) across a range of devices, ensuring that our technical standards are the envy of the indie world.
4. Engine Versatility & Low-Level Mastery
While we utilize Unity 3D, we are equally committed to our In-House Game Engine. You will work across both, giving you a deep understanding of engine architecture, memory management, and system-level programming that most developers never get to see in their entire careers.
5. Senior Leadership & Collaboration
You will communicate effectively with artists, designers, and animators. You will act as the technical “translator,” explaining hardware constraints in simple terms and finding brilliant engineering solutions to “impossible” artistic visions.
Eligibility & Technical Requirements
We are looking for the “1% of coders”—those who have a high aptitude for logic and a deep-seated love for the architecture of software.
The Technical Pillars
- Language Proficiency: Very strong, professional-level skills in C, C++, and C#. You should be comfortable moving between these languages as the task requires.
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP): A profound understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and clean software architecture.
- System Programming Knowledge: You must be familiar with multi-threading, OS concepts, memory management, and identifying performance bottlenecks at the CPU/GPU level.
- Debugging Excellence: You should have a “detective” mindset. We need a Senior Game Developer who can hunt down the most elusive race conditions and memory leaks with surgical precision.
Educational & Professional Foundation
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in OOP-related development. While game industry experience is highly preferred, we will consider brilliant systems engineers from other sectors who have a demonstrable passion for gaming.
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (ideally from a reputed institute). However, we value proven talent—your GitHub and your “shipped” portfolio speak louder than any degree.
Aptitude & Soft Skills
- Analytical Prowess: High aptitude for problem-solving. You don’t just fix a bug; you analyze the system to ensure it never happens again.
- Team Spirit: Strong communication and collaboration skills. You lead by example, fostering an ego-free environment where the best idea always wins.
- Adaptability: The ability to learn new technologies and workflows on the fly as we push the boundaries of what our games can do.
The Engineering Culture at Rendered Ideas
At many studios, the “Developer” is a service provider. At Rendered Ideas, the developer is the creator. We recognize that an elegant algorithm is as beautiful as a hand-painted texture.
We encourage our seniors to be “Technical Pioneers.” If you find a performance bottleneck in the rendering pipeline, you don’t just file a report—you solve it. We provide the “Top Notch” profiling tools and the creative silence necessary to do the job right. We don’t believe in “quick and dirty” fixes; we believe in sustainable, high-performance engineering.
Other Positions & General Interest
Not a Senior Game Developer but still feel like you belong at Rendered Ideas? We are always on the lookout for passionate and talented individuals to join our ranks. Whether you are a rising star in UI/UX, a QA specialist with a passion for breaking things, or a producer who can handle an indie schedule, we want to hear from you. If you think you can contribute to making our games better and would like to join our small, elite team, don’t hesitate to reach out.
The Application Process
We skip the HR buzzwords and dive straight into the code.
1. Code & Portfolio Review: Show us your GitHub or previous projects. We want to see how you structure your logic and how you handle complex systems.
2. Technical Deep-Dive: An interview focused on C++, memory management, and OOP principles.
3. The Logic Challenge: A brief, real-world game development problem to solve. We want to see how you think under the hood.
4. Cultural Sync: A conversation with our founders and creative leads to ensure you’re as obsessed with great games as we are.
