About Magic Spark
At Magic Spark, we believe that the most exceptional games come to life when creative passion is supported by immaculate, streamlined execution. Operating remotely with a strong base in Estonia, our studio thrives on autonomy, collaborative energy, and a shared dedication to crafting memorable interactive experiences. As our Lead Producer, you will serve as the heartbeat of our development lifecycle, ensuring our ambitious visions successfully transition from initial concepts into thriving, living games.
About the Role
Own delivery end-to-end. From concept through launch and deep into live-ops, you ensure our games actually ship—on scope, on quality, and without the studio grinding itself to dust. If a timeline slips, you saw it coming ahead of time and had a clear mitigation plan ready.
Build the machine, not just the schedule. You will establish the pipelines, rituals, and tools that allow design, art, and engineering to move rapidly without tripping over each other. Good production is invisible when it functions smoothly and completely obvious when it breaks down.
Obsess over flow. Work must be broken down into small, achievable steps with clear acceptance criteria on everything, ensuring blockers are caught and surfaced early. Vagueness drains our budget and wastes valuable momentum; your core job is to eliminate it entirely.
Range widely across operational layers. One week you might be completely re-planning a project roadmap, and the next you are mediating a scope dispute, tightening a live-ops content cadence, or coaching another producer through a tricky sprint. You will comfortably zoom from high-level studio strategy down to a single stuck task.
Shape what we build, not just when it ships. Push back on scope creeps, flag risks to the core creative vision, and bring a grounded delivery reality check into reviews. Production opinions carry immense weight here—backed always by actionable plans and strategies rather than mere caution.
Key Responsibilities
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with design, art, engineering, and executive leadership. Communicate plainly and kindly on calls and in writing, acting as the connective tissue that keeps every team pointing toward the exact same target.
- Honest Scope & Timeline Sizing: Assess work accurately, name potential risks upfront, weigh realistic timelines against creative ambition, and surface roadblocks before they bite. Protect both the final deadline and the well-being of the people hitting it.
- Signal Tracking & Health Monitoring: Monitor velocity, burn rates, and team morale just as closely as primary milestones. Catch an overloading team, a drifting project, or a fracturing pipeline long before it manifests negatively inside the game.
- Balanced Process Maintenance: Hold the bar on structured workflow without introducing suffocating bureaucracy. Implement just enough process to ship reliably without ever smothering creative freedom.
- Leadership & Culture: Grow junior producers, coordinate effectively across every department, celebrate shared wins, and passionately protect an ego-free, can-do studio culture.
What We Are Looking For
While none of these qualifications are rigid requirements, strong candidates typically bring most of them:
- Several years shipping commercial games or complex software as a producer, project lead, or production manager—ideally taking products all the way through to active live-ops.
- Hands-on Roblox or broad gaming industry experience, or comparable delivery leadership background where you successfully owned scope, timelines, and cross-team coordination.
- A verifiable track record of shipped projects, complete with a clear narrative of how you kept them meticulously on track.
- An intuitive instinct for when a project is drifting, paired with the backbone to call it out early and re-plan effectively.
- Comfort transitioning fluidly between high-level roadmap strategy, sprint-level granularity, and one-on-one people management.
- The capacity to bring order and structure to a large, fast-moving, and dynamic studio environment without requiring hand-holding.
- Strong self-direction, unblocking yourself and everyone around you while happily taking total ownership of outcomes.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills in English.
- A genuine passion for playing games and a deep care for the craft of making them.
Nice-to-Haves
While not strictly required to apply, any of the following will significantly strengthen your candidacy:
- Experience managing live Roblox experiences with ongoing content cadences and community events.
- A strong, practical read on what Roblox players want and how the platform’s community and algorithm reward steady updates.
- Fluency with standard production tooling (such as Favro, Jira, or equivalent) and a proven knack for establishing lightweight, highly effective processes.
- A working technical understanding of how design, art, and engineering are executed—enough to evaluate unrealistic estimates accurately.
- Prior experience building, scaling, or managing remote, self-organizing teams.
- Additional multi-disciplinary expertise in design, QA, data analytics, or traditional people management.
