The Role: The Art of Precision

Rotoscoping is the heartbeat of the VFX pipeline—it is the vital step that allows for the integration of characters and objects into new environments. As a Roto Artist at M Cube Studios, you will be responsible for creating frame-by-frame masks for live-action footage. This role requires an incredible eye for detail, a steady hand, and a deep commitment to maintaining the integrity of the original imagery.

Working in a professional studio environment, you will be mentored by experienced leads who are committed to helping you refine your technical skills. You will be tasked with isolating complex elements, handling motion blur, and managing intricate boundaries, ensuring that every mask you create is “composite-ready.”

What You Will Do:

• Frame-by-Frame Isolation: Execute precise rotoscoping on a variety of shots, ranging from simple silhouettes to complex, motion-heavy footage.
• Workflow Optimization: Learn and implement industry-standard rotoscoping techniques to deliver accurate results within production timeframes.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with our compositing team to understand the specific needs of each shot, ensuring that your work serves as a reliable foundation for their integration tasks.
• Quality Commitment: Uphold the studio’s high standards of quality. You will participate in reviews and iterate on your work based on direct feedback from your leads, ensuring that every frame you deliver is up to the mark.
• Technical Growth: Utilize professional-grade software to develop your skills, learning how to manage complex tracking, edge control, and mask layering effectively.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for individuals who view rotoscoping not just as a task, but as a craft. Whether you are a fresh graduate or have up to two years of experience, we are interested in your technical potential, your patience, and your dedication to the art of VFX.

Requirements:

• Experience: 0–2 years of experience in the VFX industry. Freshers with a strong educational background or a standout portfolio are highly encouraged to apply.
• Technical Aptitude: A solid understanding of rotoscoping software (e.g., Silhouette, Mocha, Nuke, or similar).
• Portfolio/Reel: A portfolio or showreel is required. We want to see examples of your work—even if it is from student projects or personal practice—that demonstrate your ability to handle edges, motion, and complexity.
• Attention to Detail: An uncompromising commitment to quality. You must be able to focus on the fine details of a frame while maintaining the broader rhythm of the sequence.
• Communication: A professional and proactive attitude. You should be ready to ask questions, accept constructive criticism, and grow within a team setting.
• Location: Candidates must be able to work on-site at our Pune office.
