3. About the Studio: The EDGLRD Ethos

EDGLRD thrives at the “edge.” We partner with global brands that are tired of the status quo and hungry for bold experimentation. Our studio culture is decentralized from corporate bureaucracy; we value speed, autonomy, and an obsession with “what’s next.”

We don’t provide a roadmap—we provide a destination and expect our Leads to build the vehicle. This is a place for artists who live online, track new tools before they hit the mainstream, and understand the nuances of contemporary internet culture.

4. Key Responsibilities

The Lead 3D Artist role is a hybrid of high-level creative direction and deep-trench technical execution.

Creative Execution & Look Dev

  • High-Fidelity Creation: Develop world-class 3D models, intricate materials, cinematic lighting, and fluid animations.

  • Visual Storytelling: Translate vague creative briefs into polished, evocative 3D executions that resonate with modern audiences.

  • Look Development: Lead the “Look Dev” phase of projects, establishing the visual language and aesthetic standards for the entire production.

Production Leadership

  • End-to-End Ownership: Lead the 3D production pipeline from early concept exploration through final render and delivery.

  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work intimately with Creative Directors, Motion Designers, and Producers to ensure 3D assets integrate seamlessly into larger campaigns.

  • Asset Optimization: Ensure all assets are optimized for their specific output—whether it’s a 4K motion piece, a real-time web experience, or an interactive XR environment.

  • Directing Talent: Oversee contracted artists and external production houses, ensuring their work meets EDGLRD’s rigorous quality standards.

Innovation & Troubleshooting

  • Technical Problem Solving: Identify and solve complex technical bottlenecks in the rendering or animation pipeline.

  • Tool Tracking: Stay ahead of the curve by testing and implementing emerging tools and workflows (AI-assisted modeling, procedural workflows, etc.).

5. Candidate Profile: Requirements

We are looking for an artist with a “strong eye and a steady hand.” Taste is just as important as technical skill.

  2. Cultural Resonance: Your work feels current and connected to the digital zeitgeist.

  3. Team Elevation: Through your leadership and mentorship, the overall 3D capabilities of the studio grow stronger.

  • Taste: Show us that you understand color, light, and composition at an elite level.

  • Process: Include breakdowns of complex scenes—we want to see your topology, your lighting setups, and your node graphs.

  • Innovation: Highlight projects where you used a new tool or technique to solve a creative challenge.
