Role Responsibilities: Crafting the Spectacle
As a 3D FX Artist at Knack Studios, you will be at the core of the action. You won’t just be pushing buttons; you will be analyzing the narrative and technical needs of a scene to create hyper-realistic or stylized effects that enhance the story.
1. Dynamic Simulation
Create high-impact effects including fire, smoke, water, explosions, and complex particle simulations.
Utilize advanced simulation tools for fluid dynamics, rigid body interactions (RBD), and realistic cloth behavior.
2. Scene Analysis & Integration
Analyze scene composition and camera movement to determine the exact technical requirements for FX.
Ensure that every simulation integrates seamlessly with live-action plates or CG environments, maintaining perfect realism.
3. Optimization & Quality Control
Balance visual “wow-factor” with computational efficiency to ensure renders are delivered on time without compromising quality.
Conduct rigorous quality control to verify that all FX alignment matches the artistic direction provided by the VFX Supervisor.
4. Pipeline & Data Management
Maintain highly organized file structures and provide daily progress updates to production leads.
Collaborate with the lighting and compositing departments to ensure FX passes are optimized for the final look.
