Company Overview: Where Artistry Meets Innovation
Eyeline Studios is a global collective of visionaries, risk-takers, and perfectionists. We operate at the apex of the entertainment industry, partnering with the world’s most ambitious storytellers to transform creative sparks into breathtaking cinematic realities. Our studio is built upon three foundational pillars—VFX, Studios, and Labs—which together serve as the creative spine of our organization, guiding our output from the first conceptual sketch to the final pixel on screen.
At Eyeline Studios, we believe that technology is the vessel, but our people are the soul. Our mission is to deepen creative connections through exceptional craft and precision. This commitment to excellence is bolstered by a significant strategic investment from Netflix, allowing us to revolutionize our pipeline, infrastructure, and virtual production capabilities. While we lead the charge in technological advancement, we remain dedicated to the time-honored craft of filmmaking, serving a diverse array of global clients across feature films and premium episodic content.
Role Overview
As a Compositor at Eyeline Studios, you are the final arbiter of the image. You occupy a pivotal role in the production pipeline, responsible for harmonizing disparate layers—live-action plates, CG elements, matte paintings, and effects—into a singular, seamless, and aesthetically compelling shot.
Working primarily within Foundry Nuke, you will apply a master-level understanding of light, color, and optics to solve complex visual challenges. This role requires more than technical proficiency; it demands an “artistic eye” capable of matching the subtle nuances of real-world photography. You will be expected to work efficiently within production deadlines while maintaining the high-fidelity standards that our global clients expect.
Key Responsibilities
I. Aesthetic Integration & Final Delivery
Seamless Harmonization: Integrate 2D and 3D elements to create photorealistic composites that adhere to the established look and style of the project.
Visual Problem Solving: Utilize a deep understanding of light, shadow, color, and shape to resolve design challenges in key visual effects shots.
Technical Excellence: Execute core 2D image manipulation processes with precision, including tracking (2D and 3D), color correction, depth of field matching, retiming, warping, and the application of photographic optical effects (lens flares, grain, chromatic aberration).
II. Collaborative Workflow & Feedback
Creative Alignment: Work closely with the Compositing Lead and Supervisor to ensure all shots follow the set style direction and maintain visual continuity across the sequence.
Iterative Polish: Swiftly implement feedback from dailies, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude toward creative adjustments while adhering to production guidelines.
Team Synergy: Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment by sharing knowledge, troubleshooting techniques, and mentoring junior artists.
III. Script Management & Troubleshooting
Script Optimization: Maintain clean, organized, and efficient Nuke scripts that allow for easy hand-offs and troubleshooting.
Technical Debugging: Identify and resolve complex compositing issues within the pipeline, escalating significant technical hurdles to the Lead or Pipeline team when necessary.
Standards Adherence: Ensure all delivered shots meet the studio’s rigorous quality control standards and are submitted on schedule.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Core Requirements
Professional Experience: A minimum of two (2) years of experience compositing for live-action feature films or high-end episodic series in a professional VFX studio environment.
Nuke Proficiency: Intermediate to advanced skills in Foundry Nuke and a comprehensive understanding of multi-channel EXR workflows.
CG Fundamentals: A general understanding of the 3D pipeline, including how modeling, lighting, and animation interact with the compositing stage.
Soft Skills: Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to take direction positively and communicate effectively within a team.
Preferred “Plus” Qualifications
Artistic Foundation: A background in traditional fine art, professional photography, or film studies is highly desirable.
Technical Extension: Experience with Python, Blinkscript, or C++ to assist in tool development or optimization.
Specialized Comp: Prior experience with Nuke particles, 360 VR, or Array Compositing (multi-camera setups).
Optics Knowledge: A deep familiarity with physical camera properties and how they translate into digital space.
Leadership & Culture
While this is a mid-level production role, Eyeline Studios encourages leadership at every level. You are expected to be a “knowledge-sharer,” helping to foster a studio culture that values collective growth over individual ego. Eyeline Studios look for artists who are driven by a passion for their craft and who are not afraid to take creative risks to achieve a “stunning reality.”
Work Environment
This is an on-site position based in our Hyderabad, India studio. Eyeline believes that the high-fidelity collaboration required for final compositing is best achieved through the real-time interaction and secure infrastructure provided by our physical studio locations.
Eligibility: We will only consider applicants currently based in Hyderabad or those who are fully prepared to relocate to the area.
The Eyeline Experience: Benefits & Perks
Global Exposure: Work on high-profile projects for major studios and streaming platforms, including Netflix original content.
Technological Edge: Gain access to cutting-edge virtual production tools and a robust pipeline supported by significant infrastructure investment.
Mentorship: Collaborate with and learn from some of the industry’s most respected Compositing Supervisors and Leads.
Inclusion: Join a “come as you are” culture that prioritizes your qualifications and artistic passion above all else.
Application Process
To be considered for the Compositor role, please submit your application through Eyeline Studios career portal, including:
Resume: Outlining your professional experience and technical software proficiency.
Demo Reel: A link to your latest reel showcasing your best compositing work.
Breakdown: A detailed shot-by-shot breakdown describing your specific contributions to the shots in your reel (e.g., “Deep comp,” “Integration of CG fire,” “Digital matte painting projection”).
