We’re looking for a talented Rigging Artist to join our VFX team and bring characters and creatures to life with cutting-edge rigs.

What You’ll Do:
- Design & build sophisticated character and creature rigs using Maya, Houdini, Blender, or similar tools.
- Create skeletons, muscle systems, deformations, control rigs, and facial rigs for expressive animation.
- Implement realistic body mechanics: joint limits, muscle simulations, cloth, hair, and secondary animations.
- Prepare characters for animation via skinning & weighting to ensure natural movement.
- Use scripting & automation to streamline rigging processes and solve technical challenges.
- Collaborate with animators, modelers, and other departments to meet artistic and technical standards.
- Document rigs for smooth handover and mentor junior rigging artists.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging tools.
Who We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of experience as a Rigging Artist in animation or VFX with a strong portfolio/demo reel.
- Proficiency in Maya or Blender, strong understanding of anatomy, kinematics, and character movement.
- Creative problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Leadership and mentorship experience is a plus.
- Metahuman experience is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation is a plus.
Additional Info:
- Temporary position with potential for extension.
- Remote candidates considered, but preference for Los Angeles-based artists.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
