Role Overview

As a Layout Artist, you will be responsible for creating the spatial and dramatic foundations for our shots. You will work with complex 3D scenes, ensuring that scale, continuity, and artistic intent are maintained from initial assembly through to final delivery. Job Summary : Layout Artist

Key Responsibilities

• Shot Composition: Craft compelling shots based on storyboards and previs data.
• Asset Integration: Stitch plate-based shots into full CG environments and effectively assemble the right combination of assets for downstream departments.
• Scene Assembly: Integrate camera animation, lighting, and FX elements to enhance the storytelling potential of each sequence.
• Technical Integrity: Maintain strict standards for scale, continuity, and quality across all layout setups.
• Collaboration: Troubleshoot technical issues and work closely with supervisors to ensure the creative vision is met within production timelines.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience: 3–5 years of dedicated layout experience in feature film or TV VFX.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Arts, Film, or Animation is preferred.
• Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in Maya is required. Experience with 3ds Max, Photoshop, Shotgrid (formerly Shotgun), Nuke, and scripting is considered a significant asset.
• Artistic Skills: A solid grounding in animation for storytelling, complemented by a keen eye for composition, lighting, staging, and presentation.
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach to team-based projects.
