We are currently seeking a skilled, creative Mid-Level 3D Layout Artist to join our production team on a full-time, on-site basis starting in January 2026. Role Overview
As a Mid-Level 3D Layout Artist at 3 Doubles Producciones, you will act as the cinematic architect of our films. Your primary responsibility is to take raw 2D storyboards and animatics and translate them into polished, spatially accurate 3D environments.
Working closely with the Layout Supervisor, Animation, Camera, and Art Direction teams, you will establish shot compositions, block out character placements, define camera movements, and ensure seamless narrative continuity. You will troubleshoot technical and creative obstacles within composition and staging, delivering production-ready sequences that set the structural foundation for the entire downstream animation pipeline.
Responsibilities
- • Block scenes from storyboards and animatics
• Ensure visual and narrative consistency with the Layout Supervisor
• Collaborate with Animation, Camera, and Art Direction teams
• Solve technical and creative issues in composition, blocking & camera work
• Deliver high-quality, production-ready sequences
• Contribute to improving layout and previs pipelines
Requirements
• 2–3 years experience in 3D animation or VFX (layout/previz role)
• Strong proficiency in Maya
• Solid grasp of cinematography, staging & visual storytelling
• Detail-oriented, responsive to feedback
• Technical English (written & spoken)
Bonus: Python/automation experience
