We’re looking for a versatile Unreal Generalist to join our real-time visualization team at DNEG. You’ll work on all stages of production—previs, postvis, techviz, visualization, live shows, and final pixel—helping build, animate, light, and optimize scenes in Unreal Engine. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working across the whole pipeline—assets, lighting, cameras, animation, procedural tools, and more. Responsibilities Build and animate scenes in Unreal across different stages of production. Import/manage assets (FBX, USD, Alembic) with correct scale and materials. Set up lighting, lookdev, cameras, rigs, and animation in-engine. Use procedural tools (Unreal PCG, Houdini Engine, etc.) for layout, FX, and environments. Troubleshoot real-time performance/rendering issues. Collaborate with supervisors, artists, and tech teams for smooth delivery. Keep scenes optimized and organized. Qualifications Strong Unreal Engine experience in visualization, previs/postvis, or game cinematics. Knowledge of Blueprints, rigging/animation, and asset workflows. Experience with Houdini / Houdini Engine and procedural tools. Understanding of performance optimization and PCG. Comfortable with layout, lookdev, world building, lighting, and cameras. Bonus Skills Cinematic camera and lookdev experience. Knowledge of Shotgrid, Perforce, C++/Python. Experience in VFX/animation/game pipelines or in-camera VFX projects.
