The Mission: Defining the Digital Soul of Night City
The UI in Cyberpunk 2 must do more than relay information; it must amplify the atmosphere. As the Lead UI Artist, you will collaborate closely with the Art Director and UI Designers to establish a visual language that feels uniquely “Orion.” You will be responsible for creating dynamic, stylized, and cohesive elements that provide a memorable and immersive player experience.
Core Leadership Responsibilities
Team Mentorship & Growth: Lead, inspire, and empower the UI art team. You will provide daily artistic direction and feedback, ensuring both the quality of the game and the professional growth of your artists.
Visual Language Stewardship: Establish and maintain a clear, iconic visual language that complements the game’s core design and narrative direction.
Consistency Management: Ensure the UI art style remains cohesive across all aspects of the game, from HUD elements to deep-dive database menus.
Strategic Coordination: Partner with Production and Directors to plan, prioritize, and track UI milestones, ensuring the team delivers world-class work on schedule.
Cross-Disciplinary Synergy: Collaborate with UI Designers, VFX Artists, and the Art Director to create a user-centered interface that enhances player immersion.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
We are seeking a seasoned veteran who understands the delicate balance between “Form” and “Function” in a high-fidelity RPG environment.
Professional Credentials
Industry Experience: Minimum 7 years as a UI Artist in game development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
AAA Track Record: A portfolio demonstrating expertise in crafting high-end UI for major titles, showcasing an ability to maintain a cohesive art style.
Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or other industry-standard UI design tools.
Foundational Art Skills: Mastery of typography, color theory, layout, and composition.
Soft Skills & Leadership
Mentorship Ability: Proven experience in guiding other artists and fostering a collaborative, creative environment.
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; the ability to present complex design concepts to stakeholders clearly.
Feedback Culture: The ability to deliver and receive feedback in a productive, professional, and accountable manner.
Nice to Have (Optional)
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 workflows and pipelines.
Understanding of Blueprints or general scripting principles.
