Prepare to embark on an epic journey. “Messi and the Giants” follows a young boy named Leo who is transported from his home in Argentina into a fantastical alternate universe. This series is a massive collaboration between industry titans: Sony Music Vision, Sony Pictures Television Kids, and Leo Messi Management.

As the Compositing Supervisor, you will be responsible for the final “look and feel” of this multiverse. You will ensure that the blend of character animation and otherworldly environments is seamless, magical, and consistently high-quality for a global Disney audience.

The Role: Impact and Leadership

The Compositing Supervisor at Atlantis Animation is a cornerstone of the production. You are the final filter for visual excellence, bridging the gap between technical execution and artistic vision. Working in lockstep with the Creative Director, CG Supervisor, and Producer, you will drive the compositing department to new heights.

1. Artistic Vision & Quality Control

You are the guardian of the project’s aesthetic integrity.

  • Mastering the Look: Translate verbal and visual creative briefs into high-end compositing workflows that define the show’s visual language.
  • Complex Shot Execution: While you lead, you will remain hands-on for the most challenging shots and sequences, setting the technical and artistic benchmark for the entire team.
  • Visual Continuity: Ensure a seamless flow across all episodes. You will manage the balance of color, lighting, mood, and atmosphere to ensure that the “alternate universe” feels cohesive and immersive.

2. Technical Orchestration & Pipeline

Atlantis relies on efficient, scalable, and sophisticated workflows. Your technical duties include:

  • Script Templating & Gizmos: Develop and manage master Nuke scripts and custom gizmos. This ensures that even with a large team, the output remains consistent and the technical setup is optimized for speed.
  • Pipeline Problem Solving: Collaborate with CG and support departments to identify and resolve bottlenecks. Whether it’s a render issue or a complex integration challenge, you are the primary troubleshooter.
  • Photography & Camera Principles: Apply a solid understanding of real-world camera behavior (depth of field, motion blur, lens flares) to CG elements to create a grounded yet fantastical visual experience.

3. Team Management & Mentorship

Leadership at Atlantis is about empowerment.

  • Strategic Delegation: Assign shots based on individual artist strengths, ensuring the right talent is matched to the right task to maximize both quality and efficiency.
  • Daily Reviews: Lead daily “dailies,” providing clear, constructive, and actionable feedback. You must be able to guide artists through changes requested by clients or project supervisors with clarity and encouragement.
  • Mentorship: Lead and manage a diverse team of compositors across all levels, fostering a professional environment where artists feel supported in their growth.

  • Production Partnership: Work closely with the production team to bid sequences and schedule work accurately within the 10-month timeframe. You are responsible for ensuring the department meets its milestones.
  • Client Relations: Attend client reviews and act as the technical voice of the compositing department, effectively interpreting feedback into technical tasks.
  • Performance Tracking: Oversee the progress of the team as a whole, taking full responsibility for the final quality of every frame delivered.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for compositing workflows to ensure seamless onboarding and technical consistency.

We are seeking a candidate with a “magic spark”—someone who loves animation challenges and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of professional compositing experience, with a proven track record in a Lead or Supervisor role on CG-heavy projects (Animation, Film, or high-end TV).
  • Technical Expert: Absolute mastery of Foundry Nuke.
  • Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python scripting is a major plus and will be highly valued for pipeline customization.
  • Artistic Mastery: A strong artistic eye for composition, color theory, lighting, and mood.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills. You must be fluent in English.
  • Logistics: You must hold a valid EU/Spanish work permit and be available to work 100% on-site in Tenerife starting June 2026.

The Project: Secure a prestigious credit on a global Disney/Sony series involving one of the world’s most iconic athletes.

On-Site Synergy: We believe in the power of in-person collaboration. Experience a workspace where creativity flows freely and problems are solved in real-time.

The Lifestyle: Santa Cruz de Tenerife offers a stunning climate, beautiful landscapes, and a vibrant culture, allowing for an incredible work-life balance.

Professional Growth: Work at the forefront of the industry with a studio that is consistently chosen by major global broadcasters.

How to Apply

If you are ready to lead our compositing team through the fantastical universe of Leo Messi, we want to hear from you.
Required Materials:

1. Comprehensive Resume: Highlighting your supervisory experience and technical proficiencies.
2. Portfolio/Showreel: A link to your latest work, including breakdowns of your most complex compositing challenges.
3. Statement of Intent: A brief cover letter explaining your approach to leadership and your experience with Nuke templating.
