We don’t view interns as temporary help for menial tasks; we view you as the future of our studio. Our internship program is specifically designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the rigorous demands of a professional VFX pipeline. During your time with us, you will be immersed in a “learn-by-doing” environment. You will be assigned to actual production shots under the close mentorship of our Senior Compositors and Leads. Our goal is to train you so effectively that by the end of your internship, you are a seamless fit for our full-time production team. What You Will Learn & Do 1. Professional Roto & Paint Workflows The foundation of every great compositor is a mastery of rotoscoping and prep. You will learn: Articulate Rotoscoping: How to create complex mattes for moving characters, respecting motion blur, hair detail, and defocus. Plate Preparation: Removing tracking markers, rigs, and wires while reconstructing the background texture and grain perfectly. Technical Integration Basics Once you have mastered the “clean-up” phase, you will move into basic compositing tasks: 2D Element Integration: Adding atmosphere, smoke, sparks, or lens flares to live-action plates. Tracking & Stabilization: Learning the nuances of point tracking, planar tracking (Mocha), and basic camera tracks. Color Correction: Understanding how to match the black levels, white points, and gamma of an added element to the original plate. 3. Pipeline & Production Discipline Technical skill is only half the battle. You will also be trained in the professional habits that make a VFX artist successful: File Management: Adhering to studio naming conventions and versioning protocols. Script Organization: Building clean, readable Nuke scripts that can be easily handed over to other artists. Feedback Loops: Participating in “dailies” and learning how to interpret and execute creative notes from supervisors. Candidate Requirements We are looking for individuals who have “The Eye.” While we will teach you the advanced technicalities, we expect you to bring a foundational level of passion and skill to the table. Software Foundation: A basic but solid understanding of Foundry Nuke. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Mocha is highly preferred. Attention to Detail: You are the person who notices a single pixel out of place. You have a natural instinct for what looks “real” versus what looks “fake.” Portfolio/Showreel: A reel demonstrating your best student projects or personal work. We prioritize quality over quantity—show us a clean rotoscoping shot or a well-matched green screen exercise. Proactive Attitude: You don’t wait for instructions. If you finish a task, you ask for the next one or spend time practicing a new node in Nuke.
