🔹 What You’ll Do
As a Pre-Production Technical Director, you’ll support creative and visual goals by developing tools, optimizing workflows, and troubleshooting pipelines for pre-production craft groups (Story, Edit, Art, Concept, Design, Visual Development). You will:
- Lead the technical direction for pre-production pipelines and tools.
- Collaborate with creative and technical teams to ensure smooth workflows.
- Design and develop robust, maintainable software solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and optimize workflows.
- Mentor mid-level TDs and foster collaboration across teams.
- Participate in scheduling, planning, and technical decision-making for projects.
🔹 What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of pipeline TD experience in feature animation, TV series, or VFX.
- Strong knowledge of software such as Flix, Avid, Storyboard Pro, Photoshop, and related tools.
- Expert proficiency in Python and PyQt (C++ knowledge is a plus).
- Familiarity with USD concepts, ShotGrid, and code management tools like Git/GitHub.
- Understanding of Agile software development processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Degree in Animation, Film, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
