The Locations: A Truly Global Remote Studio

We are looking for talent located within the following regions to ensure seamless synchronization with our international teams:

Eligible Regions: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Great Britain, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine.

The Role: Architect of the Cinematic Pipeline

The Cinematic Technical Artist thrives at the intersection of creativity and logic. You are the individual who navigates complex pipelines, ensures technical excellence, and supports high-fidelity content creation. Your mission is to shape the final look and feel of in-game cinematics while maintaining production workflows that are as efficient as they are stable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scene Orchestration: Assemble, organize, and maintain highly complex animation scenes within both Game Engines (Unreal/Unity) and DCC tools (Maya/MotionBuilder).

  • Data Management: Oversee the import, update, and lifecycle management of motion capture (mocap), performance capture, and keyframe animation data.

  • Pipeline Troubleshooting: Act as the primary “firefighter” to resolve technical issues across the entire cinematic pipeline, from initial blocking to final render.

  • Standards & Optimization: Rigorously ensure that all scene and asset data meet project-specific requirements and hardware performance budgets without compromising artistic intent.

  • Workflow Innovation: Evaluate existing technical and creative workflows, proposing tool improvements and automation processes to increase studio throughput.

  • Documentation: Author clear, concise technical documentation and user guides to empower the wider Cinematic Art team.

  • Creative Contribution: Directly support the vision of Art and Creative Directors by identifying and resolving visual inconsistencies in animation content.

What We Are Looking For: Your “Superpowers”

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and driven professional who views a technical limitation not as a barrier, but as a puzzle to be solved.

Core Requirements

  • Engine Proficiency: Deep experience with real-time game engine workflows (specifically Unreal Engine or Frostbite), including a sophisticated understanding of draw calls, memory limits, and engine-specific quirks.

  • DCC Expertise: High-level familiarity with Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder, with a focus on solving asset pipeline issues and rig compatibility.

  • Version Control: Professional experience with industry-standard version control systems such as Perforce (P4V), Git, or production tracking via ShotGrid.

  • Proactive Mindset: A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage a wide range of asset types across a distributed remote team.

The “Rockstar” Qualifications (Bonus Points)

  • AAA Pedigree: Previous experience working on high-budget AAA titles or high-end cinematic production pipelines.

  • Mocap Specialist: Familiarity with the intricacies of optical or inertial mocap pipelines and complex animation retargeting.

  • Scripting Skills: Basic knowledge of Python, MEL, or Unreal Blueprints to automate repetitive tasks and build custom tools.

  • Metahuman Expertise: Experience working with Epic Games’ Metahuman framework for high-fidelity digital humans.

  • Problem Anticipation: A “sixth sense” for spotting potential pipeline bottlenecks before they disrupt the production schedule.
