The Role: Your Creative Domain

As a 3D Generalist at PhantomFX, you will be the backbone of our visual environments. You won’t be confined to a single task; you will be immersed in the full 3D and VFX pipeline. This role is for the artist who loves the “big picture”—from the initial modeling and texturing of an asset to the final lighting and digital matte painting that gives a shot its sense of place.

You will collaborate directly with our compositing team, bridging the gap between raw 3D output and the final image. You will be responsible for translating complex data—such as HDRIs, photogrammetry, Lidar scans, and photographic references—into stunning, photorealistic visuals. If you have an eye for the natural world, a deep understanding of architecture, or a knack for procedural generation, you will find a home here.

Key Responsibilities

Your contributions will shape the environments that anchor our stories. Your primary duties will include:

• Asset Lifecycle Management: Take charge of the entire modeling, texturing, and lighting process for complex digital assets.
• Environment Development: Build photorealistic environments from the ground up. Experience with procedural city generation and scattering tools is a major advantage here.
• Pipeline Integration: Navigate the full 3D and VFX pipeline, ensuring that your assets are optimized for compositing and meet the technical requirements of the show.
• Data Utilization: Expertly integrate real-world capture data, including Lidar, photogrammetry, and HDRIs, to maintain high levels of realism.
• Environmental Logic: Bring a deep understanding of geology, geography, meteorology, and architecture to your work, ensuring that every environment feels grounded and believable.
• Collaborative Excellence: Actively engage with leads, compositors, and fellow artists to troubleshoot challenges and ensure artistic consistency across all sequences.
