Job Summary : Character Animator

Role Overview: Translating Emotion Into Motion

As a Character Animator at Netflix Animation Studios, you will serve as a core emotional driver for our narrative storytelling. Your primary mission is to create believable, compelling character performances that resonate deeply with viewers, pushing the boundaries of what digital characters can express.

Working closely with Directors, Animation Leads, and fellow artists, you will take rough storyboards and dialogue tracks and transform them into fluid, charismatic animation. You will participate actively in creative reviews, iterate rapidly based on directorial feedback, and manage your daily milestones effectively within a fast-paced production pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

• Create believable, compelling character performances
• Collaborate with Directors and Animation Leads
• Participate in reviews and team discussions
• Manage time effectively with production teams

Qualifications
• Proficiency in Maya or similar tools
• 2+ years experience in feature animation, VFX, TV, or games
• Strong understanding of the 12 principles of animation
• Reel under 2 minutes showing acting, emotion, weight & physics

Compensation
• Typical Range: $80,000 – $160,000 CAD
