About the Role
As the Lead 3D Artist at Stairway Games, you will act as the principal anchor for our 3D art pipeline. Your core mission is to spearhead the production of all 3D assets—spanning characters, props, and sprawling environments—while ensuring they meet rigorous aesthetic and technical benchmarks.
You will bridge the gap between creative ambition and engine reality, managing both in-house artists and international outsourcing partners. Working hand-in-hand with our Game Director and Project Managers, you will define pipelines, optimize workflows for maximum performance without sacrificing visual fidelity, and mentor the next generation of Indonesian game developers.

Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline & Production Leadership: Lead the end-to-end production of 3D assets across internal teams and external outsourcing vendors.
- Quality Assurance & Review: Inspect and review incoming assets, guaranteeing that every model is fully optimized and engine-ready.
- Scheduling & Collaboration: Partner closely with the Game Director and Project Management to scope timelines, establish milestones, and track delivery schedules.
- Documentation & Standards: Author clear technical documentation, pipeline guidelines, and art style standards to maintain team-wide consistency.
- Mentorship & Growth: Provide active mentorship, feedback, and technical training to artists specializing in characters, props, and environments.
- Performance Balancing: Strike the optimal balance between visual fidelity and hardware performance constraints.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Industry Tenure: Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in game development, with at least 1 successfully shipped AAA title under your belt.
- Leadership Experience: At least 3+ years operating in a lead, supervisory, or art director capacity.
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in industry-standard tools including Maya or Blender, ZBrush, Adobe Substance Suite, and Unreal Engine.
- Technical Expertise: Deep, comprehensive knowledge of topology optimization, PBR texturing pipelines, and real-time game performance profiling.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team leadership capabilities.
Preferred Bonus Skills
Demonstrated experience managing relationships and deliverables with international outsourcing vendors and co-development partners.
