The Role: Mid VFX Compositing Artist

As a Mid-Level Compositing Artist, you will serve as a crucial pillar in our production pipeline. Your primary responsibility will be the seamless integration of Computer Generated (CG) elements, matte paintings, and live-action plates into a cohesive, photorealistic final image. Whether you are performing subtle cleanup work, wire removal, or crafting breathtaking, high-complexity visual sequences, your role will be instrumental in bringing our directors’ visions to life.

You will be expected to balance technical execution with artistic nuance, ensuring that every frame you touch maintains the highest standard of edge fidelity, color accuracy, and lighting consistency.

Key Skills and Technical Proficiency

To succeed in this role, you must possess a solid foundation in digital compositing and a passion for continuous learning. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

• Software Mastery: Proficient use of Nuke, After Effects, or equivalent industry-standard compositing packages. You should be comfortable navigating node-based pipelines, managing complex scripts, and optimizing performance.
• Artistic Eye: A highly developed eye for detail, particularly in the realms of lighting, color matching, and grain structure. You understand the physics of light and how to manipulate it to ensure CG elements feel grounded in real-world plates.
• Production Discipline: The ability to manage multiple shots simultaneously and work efficiently under tight production deadlines without compromising the aesthetic quality of your output.
• Problem Solving: A proactive attitude toward troubleshooting. When a plate is difficult or an element doesn’t sit right, you are the artist who experiments with new techniques to find the “perfect fit.”
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with supervisors, lighting artists, and other members of the production team. You are open to feedback and capable of incorporating notes quickly.
