The Mission: Learning the Science of Fun
As a Junior Game Designer, you will join an expert community of professionals who set global trends. You will work at the intersection of creativity and objective analytical data. Your “Main Quest” is to learn how to keep millions of players engaged through perfectly balanced mechanics and exciting new content.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptual Design: Brainstorm and develop fresh concepts for game events and features that keep the Match-3 experience feeling new and exciting.
Process Management: Assist in controlling the development pipeline and planning project milestones from a game design perspective.
Economy & Monetization: Learn to develop and balance internal game economies, ensuring monetization strategies are fair, effective, and rewarding for the player.
Data-Driven Balancing: Analyze real-world player statistics to set high-level balance, adjusting level difficulty and reward structures based on objective data.
Collaboration: Partner with artists, programmers, and producers to see your ideas move from a rough sketch to a live feature enjoyed by millions.
Requirements: What You Need to Join the Quest
We value passion and potential as much as experience. While this is a “Junior” role, we are looking for candidates who live and breathe the mobile gaming market.
Match-3 Mastery: You must have a genuine, deep-seated interest in casual projects. Important: In your application, please indicate exactly how many Match-3 levels you have completed in Playrix games (Gardenscapes, Homescapes, Fishdom).
Market Awareness: A solid understanding of current trends in the mobile gaming market. You should know what makes a game “sticky” and why certain features trend globally.
Creative Initiative: Experience participating in game jams, contests, or modding communities is highly valued. We want to see that you’ve tried to build something!
Analytical Mindset: An ability to look at a game not just as a player, but as a system of logic, math, and psychology.
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of experience in game design (even if on indie or student projects).
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Art, Math, Psychology, or a relevant field.
Technical Curiosity: An interest in how AI and Machine Learning are changing game development.
The Playrix Advantage: Why Start Your Career Here?
Starting your career at Playrix means skipping several rungs on the traditional industry ladder. We provide the “Unlimited Resources” of a market leader to help you succeed.
The Mentorship System: You will be paired with expert game designers and producers who will help you adapt quickly. You’ll have access to a massive internal knowledge base that contains years of industry secrets.
Cross-Product Initiatives: We don’t silo our talent. You’ll have the opportunity to move between products and areas—from LiveOps development to new games in production or even marketing creatives.
Technological Frontiers: You’ll get to work with AI tools that speed up pre-production and neural network bots that help calibrate level difficulty. We are constantly experimenting with ML to personalize the player experience.
No Bureaucracy: We value efficiency. If you find a better way to do something, you have the freedom to switch out processes without waiting for months of “corporate approval.”
Employee Perks & Well-being
Total Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the world. We don’t care about your “clock-in” time; we care about the quality of your design.
Holistic Care: We reimburse gym memberships, fitness app subscriptions, and online sessions with psychologists to ensure you are as healthy as your games are.
Community Events: Join our regular offline team meetings, legendary corporate parties, online hackathons, and fitness challenges.
Internal Merch Store: Use our internal currency—earned through significant dates and company activities—to buy unique Playrix gear and gifts.
