Job Overview : Game Animator

The Role: Breathing Life into Gameplay

As a Game Animator at Glow Production, you are responsible for the physical performance of our digital worlds. You will work closely with our Lead Artist and Concept Artists to ensure that every movement—from a subtle idle animation to an explosive combat strike—serves both the gameplay functionality and the narrative intent of the project.

• Creative Implementation: You will develop creative and innovative animation ideas that align perfectly with our core project objectives. You aren’t just following instructions; you are helping to shape the “feel” of our games.
• Pipeline Excellence: You will operate within our established production pipeline, ensuring that all animations are technically sound, optimized for performance, and ready for engine integration.
• Professional Autonomy: We value artists who can manage their own tasks and schedules. You will be expected to deliver high-quality work consistently, meeting project milestones and deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
• Collaborative Design: You will be an active participant in team discussions, offering feedback and participating in the iterative process to elevate the visual quality of our titles.

Who You Are

We are looking for an animator who loves the craft of motion and thrives in an environment that prizes creativity, technical rigor, and constant evolution.

• Experienced Professional: You have 2+ years of professional experience as a Game Animator. Your portfolio (demo reel) is gameplay-focused and demonstrates a deep understanding of body mechanics, timing, and weight.
• Technical Literacy: You have a solid grasp of game production workflows. You are proficient in Maya and are comfortable navigating the technical constraints of game engines.
• Adaptability: Production schedules in gaming can change quickly. You are responsive to feedback, eager to learn new techniques, and comfortable pivoting when a project’s needs evolve.
• Bonus Strengths: If you have experience with Unity, a background in mobile or cross-platform gaming, or basic knowledge of rigging, you will be considered a high-priority candidate. Additionally, proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is highly valued as we often collaborate across regional teams.
