The Technical Art of Overwatch Animation
Overwatch is famous for its “snappy” and “read-able” animation style. As a Senior Animator, you will utilize mathematical and physical principles to ensure the game remains competitive.
1. The Frame-Data Calculation
In a hero shooter, the “hit-frame” is critical. You must calculate the transition between the Anticipation phase and the Active phase to ensure the player feels an immediate response.
If the Active Frame is too late, the hero feels “heavy”; if it’s too early, the animation loses “weight.”
2. Hero Silhouette & Posing
Overwatch characters must be instantly recognizable by their silhouette alone. You will work on extreme posing to ensure that even at a distance, a player can distinguish between a Tracer and a Widowmaker based on their movement arcs and idle stances.
Rewards: Benefits for ‘Every World’
Blizzard offers a comprehensive suite of benefits designed to promote physical, emotional, and financial well-being.
Financial Health: Competitive base pay, 401(k) with company match, and tuition reimbursement.

Work-Life Balance: Paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave, floating holidays, and generous parental leave.
Perks: Free and discounted games, charitable donation matching, and mental health programs.
