Open Position: Character Artist

We currently have an exciting opening for a dedicated Character Artist to join our remote team. If you have an eye for anatomy, texture, storytelling, and personality, this is your chance to shine.

Role Overview

As a Character Artist at Ares Studio, you will bridge the conceptual and the tangible, transforming 2D concept art into fully realized, high-detail 3D assets ready for animation and interactive pipelines. You will collaborate closely with animators, riggers, and art directors to ensure every character tells a compelling visual story.

• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Salary Range: ₹7.5 Lakhs – ₹12.5 Lakhs LPA (USD equivalents considered based on regional alignment)

Key Responsibilities

• Sculpt, model, and texture high- and low-poly characters, creatures, and assets optimized for real-time engines or pre-rendered pipelines.
• Work hand-in-hand with the art direction team to maintain a cohesive visual style across diverse projects.
• Ensure clean topology, optimal UV unwrapping, and efficient texture mapping suitable for rigging and animation.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges related to character deformation, clothing physics, and shading.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging industry trends, software tools, and workflow optimizations to keep Ares Studio at the cutting edge.

What We Are Looking For

• A stellar portfolio demonstrating strong proficiency in organic modeling, hard-surface detailing, texturing, and rendering.
• Deep mastery of industry-standard software (e.g., ZBrush, Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, Marvelous Designer).
• A solid understanding of human and animal anatomy, silhouette, proportion, and form language.
• Ability to take constructive feedback gracefully and iterate rapidly in a fast-paced pipeline.
• Excellent communication skills and the self-discipline required to thrive in a remote work environment.
